The community garden is an effort to provide people a chance to have purposeful work, exercise, and a sense of community. The first planting of the garden took place in the Spring of 2009 and although in its early stages, is expanding with each planting season.
Volunteers contribute by participating in the activity needed by the Garden at the time – whether it be mulching, planting, weeding, or harvesting. As produce grows, these very same volunteers, along with other visitors to the Center, share in the rewards of consuming organically-grown produce.
Plan a visit to the Center and come garden with us!
